UEFA Champions League Update
There is only one more group match left in the Champions League and while some teams have already made it to the knockout phase, the last match will determine the fates of many clubs.

The significance of these games is not lost on soccer bettors following the Champions League odds for these final games.

Champions League odds - Group A

Bordeaux has already made it to the knockout phase and the last match between second place Juventus and third place Bayern Munich is HUGE. Juventus has 8 points and Beyern has 7 points so if Juve wins or plays to a draw they will make it out of the group while Bayern has to win the match.

That will not be easy for Bayern, as they are the away team with the match in Italy.

Champions League odds - Group B

Manchester United can make it out of the group with a win or draw when they play at Wolfsburg in the next match. Wolfsburg and CSKA Moscow both have 7 points and Moscow faces an away match at Besiktasand if they win and Wolfsburg draws or loses they are in.

If CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg tie in points Wolfsburg will make it through on goal differential.

Champions League odds - Group C

If Real Madrid wins or plays to a draw in their match at Marseille they will make it out. AC Milan plays at FC Zurich and if they win they will make it to the knockout phase.

Marseille is in third place in the group and they will need to beat Real Madrid and have AC Milan lose or draw to make it out.

Champions League odds - Group D

This group is already set, as Chelsea and FC Porto have made it to the knockout phase.

Champions League odds - Group E

This group is also set, as Fiorentina and Lyon have made it out. This is surprising, as Liverpool was in this group and will not be making it to the knockout phase for the first time in a few years.

Champions League odds - Group F

This group is still wide open, but if group leader Barcelona beat Dynamo Kiev in Kiev they will make it out. If Inter Milan wins at home against Rubin Kazan they will make it out of the group. For Dynamo Kiev to make it out they must beat Barcelona and hope the Inter vs. Rubin Kazan match is a draw.

If Inter and Rubin Kazan play to a draw and Dynamo Kiev loses or draws then goal differential will be used to see if Inter or Rubin make it out.

Champions League odds – Group G

Sevilla has already made it to the knockout phase, as they lead Group G with 10 points. The last match between Stuttgart and FC Unirea Urziceni is vital for each team. FC Unirea Urziceni is in second place in the group with 8 points while Stuttgart has 6 points.

Stuttgart is at home in this match, as they have to win this match to make it out, while if FC Unirea Urziceni wins or plays to a draw they will make it to the knockout phase.

Champions League odds - Group H

Arsenal has already made it out of the group. Olympiacos is in second place in the group and they host Arsenal in the last group match and if they win or play to a draw they will make it out. Third place Standard hosts AZ Alkmaar and they have to win and hope Olympiacos loses.

If that does happen then Olympiacos and Standard will be tied and goal differential will be looked at to see which team makes it out.

World Cup soccer odds – World Cup 2010 futures

Qualifying is well underway and there have been some upsets, yet the usual suspects top the World Cup 2010 future odds lists across the world.

Brazil owns the shortest odds at 5/1, while South American neighbor Argentina sits at 11/2. Spain, the defending European champions, share the top slot with Brazil at 5/1.

Defending champion Italy, which had been a longshot entering the 2006 World Cup, currently sit at 11/1 odds. The team they defeated in the penalty shoot in Germany (France) is now 18/1.

Some fans and bettors ask the question: why would I bet the World Cup now, well in advance of the tournament field being set and without seeing the injury situations and form at that time? The answer is that singling out a longshot now can pay out far better than when the action begins.

Remember Euro 2004 when Greece entered the tournament as 500/1 underdog? Remember how the odds kept falling as they pulled upset after upset? Remember the global shock when the Greeks paraded the European championship trophy around the field?

For example, the Greeks are currently 100/1 while the powerful Dutch are 18/1.

Not all soccer future wagers are good ones and you should limit these bets. However, placing a few strategic future bets can pad your bankroll. Check out the latest World Cup odds by clicking here.
